Under California law, residents can tell a business to stop selling or sharing their personal information. Below is what that means here at Fern Trail Market. We answer a request from any state in the same way.
California Rights: CCPA and CPRA
The rights come from the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), together with the changes the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) made to it. A California resident can use them to stop a business selling personal information about them, or passing it on for cross-context behavioural advertising. They can also find out what a business holds on them and have it corrected or erased.
Our Position
Fern Trail Market does not sell personal information, and has no plans to. Nor does it hand any over for cross-context behavioural advertising, and this site carries no ad tags.
The firms that take payments, run our order system, send our emails, host the site and carry parcels get only the details each task needs. Their contracts forbid them from using those details for anything of their own, so passing data to them is not a sale.
How to Make a Request
You are welcome to log an opt-out anyway, or to ask for a list of what we keep on file about you. Send an email to support@ferntrailmarket.com headed "CCPA request - Do Not Sell or Share" and tell us:
- your name as it appears on your orders
- the email address you checked out with
What Happens Next
When your email arrives, we write back to confirm it and may ask you to show that the orders are yours. Within 30 days of receipt, the request is carried out and we let you know by email. Where more time is genuinely needed, we explain the delay and name a new date.
Making a request never counts against you. We do not discriminate against anyone for using these rights; prices, service and the way we deal with you stay exactly as they were.
